POLICY 2026-08-15.1

Flashing-light safety

LumaTrance experiences may produce rapid rhythmic flashing. Flashing can trigger seizures, migraines, dizziness, panic, nausea, or other adverse effects.

No generated pattern or intensity should be treated as medically safe. Do not use flashing light if you know you are at risk or have been advised to avoid it.

Stop immediately if you feel discomfort or anything feels physically wrong.

Screen-light output cap

Set the browser player’s display-light maximum from 10% to 100% before or during playback. This changes generated screen-light output; it does not control the device’s physical brightness setting.

Available in the browser player

Stop + Blackout

Immediately pauses audio and makes the playback stage black. During playback, use the visible button, tap the empty stage, or press Space or Escape. Switching away or leaving the page also stops playback.

Available during every playback launch

The browser has no rear-torch, haptic-output, or tested reduced-flash control. Those controls are omitted from the available list.

THREE SEPARATE CHECKS

Learn once. Confirm the moment.

Durable education avoids sending you through a separate settings page on every visit. Readiness and package checks remain close to playback.

  1. Versioned educationSafety education is stored in this browser until the policy version changes or site data is cleared.
  2. Per-tab readinessYour seated-or-lying readiness check lasts only for this browser tab.
  3. Per-launch package checkEach playback launch requires a new acknowledgement for the loaded package.

CURRENT PROTOTYPE BEHAVIOR

Privacy

The browser player reads the selected LIGHTX package, audio, metadata, and light timeline locally on this device. It does not upload that content.

This prototype has no account system, advertising, behavioral analytics, or user-content collection.

App-shell files may be cached for offline use. The hosting provider may keep ordinary access or security logs, such as IP address, request time, requested path, and browser information.

Safety education is retained in localStorage, while per-tab readiness uses sessionStorage. Clearing this site’s browser data removes these preferences and cached app-shell files.

Terms

This prototype is for personal evaluation of repository-provided or lawfully obtained LIGHTX packages. Do not use it while driving or during another safety-critical activity. Stop immediately on discomfort.

The prototype is provided as-is and may change. No publishing, purchase, account, suspension, or dispute-resolution system is implemented here.

Creator standards

Planned standards would require creators to own or have permission for submitted audio and visual material, disclose flashing-light behavior, and avoid illegal, hateful, harassing, or deliberately deceptive content.

Publishing, reporting, moderation, removal, and suspension are planned. There is no submission or enforcement system in this prototype.

PLAIN-LANGUAGE ANSWERS

Frequently asked questions

Is any generated pattern or intensity medically safe?

No. Do not treat a pattern, output-cap setting, or intensity as medically safe. Flashing can trigger adverse effects. Stop immediately if you feel discomfort or anything feels physically wrong.

What happens to my LIGHTX package and audio?

The browser player reads the selected package and audio locally on your device. It does not upload the package or create a user-content record.

What does LumaTrance remember?

Safety education is retained in localStorage for the named policy version. Readiness lasts in sessionStorage for the current tab. A package acknowledgement lasts for one playback launch. If browser storage is unavailable, checks default to incomplete and can only fall back to memory for the current page lifecycle.

Can I report content or contact support here?

Not yet. Reporting, moderation, publishing, suspension, support intake, feedback submission, and deletion-request intake are planned and unavailable in this prototype.

Does the browser player use haptics or a reduced-flash mode?

No. The browser can identify an optional haptic track, but it does not output haptics. A tested reduced-flash mode is not available. Use the screen-light output cap or Stop + Blackout.

How do I clear retained preferences?

Use Clear saved education on this page, or clear this site’s browser data to remove safety preferences and cached app-shell files. A policy-version change invalidates only the durable education acknowledgement.
